Rural hospitals at risk of being forced to reduce care or shut down.

I'd argue that Reddit is worse than Twitter.

The rating system on Reddit discourages open conversation. If you piss enough people off, you won't be able to post in that sub anymore. It's ridiculous.

When you have to care for illegal aliens that are overrunnng your public Healthcare system, yeah... things are gonna go bad.

Oddly, since ICE crackdowns in Lost Angeles, County USC Medical Center is a virtual ghost town. On any given day wait times there were between 3 and 22 hours. Today... probably under 30min.

There are quite a few Washington State rural hospitals on that list that were already struggling and it had nothing to do with illegals. The people living in those areas are going to have a difficult time if they need hospital care.

There isn't much in this bill worth celebrating.

"A majority of adults living in rural areas are concerned that these health care cuts will
"negatively impact hospitals, nursing homes, and other health care providers in [their]
community."1 They are right to be worried, as these cuts will have devastating consequences for
health outcomes and costs, jobs, and the economic success of rural communities."

The irony in this, is that 11 of the 14 hospitals that will be affected in Washington State, are in Republican districts where the representative voted for the bill.

Elections have consequences...

A big problem I see is that there is plenty of money for whatever we need, but the waste is so prolific, students, teachers, doctors, nurses, technicians, hospitals, drivers, and those seeking services are the ones that get hurt.

Politicians, Administrators, lobbyists, "government" get theirs meanwhile you and I are left holding the bag.

Luigi Mangione is a hero. Not because he murdered someone... but because he instilled fear in a class of people that NEED a healthy dose of it.

My girlfriends sister works in one of the hospitals that are going to be affected. It's not one that is on this list, but it's an East side of the State hospital.

About two weeks ago she got a letter saying that if these cuts are made, her job is almost guaranteed to be cut. She's already started looking for another job. She may end up having to move. We joked about her moving in with us to see if she could find a job in the Seattle/Tacoma area.  It might not be a joke anymore.

I am always amused by the cuts that get made. Often they are not the most efficacious cuts to make... just the most fuck you, we don't like X so we're gonna do Y.

I was just thinking, hell, I could have my own 3's company situation and two sisters to boot.

I thought it was funny to bring that up. Apparently it wasn't. Yes, a cocktail was involved.

You'll have to check into county jail once in a while to get some peace and quiet.  ;D

Yeh whatever we do, we ALWAYS have to cut the front line nurses first. Get rid of the low wage and the interface to errr, people who actually come to this hospital.
Whatever we must do, is not get rid of us - the middle management that are the important heart to the hospital.
Infact, with all these redundancies of nurses we're going to have to make, we're going to have to hire some more middle management to handle the load, and award ourselves a payrise because we've now got busier.
So every cloud has a silver lining.

I'm being forced to use somewhere around 70 hours of leave after mid July.  New money won't get on contract till Sept 1st and I'll be out of hours here pretty soon.
