The more government intervention the higher costs go. Take a popular topic; the cost of a college education... since .gov started giving away loans, costs have skyrocketed.

EVERYTHING government touches turns to shit.  And when a Democrat touches it... the shit goes off the charts.

Also, most people today are not willing to do "whatever it takes". They just think they are owed a certain lifestyle.

I worked two part time jobs and a full time job to support my family BITD. Ain't NOBODY setting sympathy from me. If you can't make it happen where you are, fuckin' move. I did what I did in The People's Republik of Kommieforniastan... one of THE most expensive places in the US to maintain the life we had. We went without a lot of things, we sacrificed.  Don't want to sacrifice? TOO FUCKIN' BAD! Stop complaining.

I don't think so.

I too used to work near 80 hours to take care of my responsibilities.

I'll turn 60 later this year...I didn't give up my side gig until about 6 years ago.

It's no different in that respect.

No. Not. One. Bit.

Excuses are like assholes. Everyone's got one.

Stop complaining and get to work. If they spend half as much time working as they do inntherapy.amd complaining, they just might be able to accomplish something.

You know what I did when I didn't like how much I was paid? I learned more and changed jobs. Why don't they try that?

YOu do know that there are people who work two, sometimes three, jobs who still can't afford to pay their bills?

Does it ever get lonely up there on that throne?

We did just have a thread that said that people are less able to afford things these days?  That was today?

Yup and I'll put forth those people who can't afford things which I agree with.... also are not doing all they can to actually help themselves.

Those things are not mutually exclusive of each other

Or complaining about their "work, life balance"

Now that I'm older, I cherish my personal time.

When we moved in to the building that we're in 13 years ago, I would sometimes work 18-hour shifts. Go home just to wake up and come back to work. I got little sleep (I don't get much now) and had no personal life.

The only one that benefited was the guy I worked for.  Don't get me wrong, I'm well taken care of. But he's going to come out of this a lot better than I am.

Yea... I mean. Do we really live to work, or work to live?

Is it better to work yourself to death until you have no quality of life left to enjoy?

Honest question.

I took the work myself to death route.  I'm only 55 so I have some time left to enjoy and still have a smidgen of quality of life left.
