Quote from: neurosis on June 23, 2025, 08:58 AMI still haven't decided whether I think dropping bombs on them was a good idea or not. I think that Trump pulling out of the agreement with them in his first term lead us to where we are now. I could be wrong, but someone would have to point me in a direction that proves that.
WRONG! GO back and look at it from ~46 year old glasses and tell me Trump had ANYTHING to do with where we are now. If you REEEEEEEEEALY want to point you in the correct direction, we're going to have to go back to the 1960's (perhaps sooner - my understanding of pre late 1970's Iran is not as strong as I would like), when the CIA installed the Shah of Iran.

These bombing raids to me are two fold; 1) Payback for taking US hostages. 2) Stop Iran from developing Nuclear weapons.

The hostage situation alone should have you cheering. Slowing down their nuke program is just ice on the cake.

Do you mean 72 year old glasses?

That was 1952. Operation Ajax. I pointed that out earlier in the thread.  The US is notorious for causing a prolem in other Countries, and then blaming that other Country for the problem?

In a week like this, it may be conveyed as more of a threat than when Biden tried similar with the Saudis.

Quote from: neurosis on June 23, 2025, 10:47 AMI'm going to watch the video here at lunch, but this woman doesn't exactly look like the who's who of impartial reporting.

Lyndon LaRouche <-- ?

I can see why they're comparing Trump to LaRouche.

"Lyndon Hermyle LaRouche Jr. (September 8, 1922 – February 12, 2019) was an American political activist and founder of the LaRouche movement, a political and cultural network promoting his ideas and involving organizations like the National Caucus of Labor Committees (NCLC).
He began his political career in the far-left politics of the 1940s and later moved to the far-right by the 1970s, becoming a prominent conspiracy theorist and perennial presidential candidate.
LaRouche's movement has been described as cult-like, and he was convicted of fraud, serving five years in prison from 1989 to 1994.
His political views included support for economic policies modeled on the recovery program of Franklin D. Roosevelt, rejecting free trade, deregulation, and globalization.
LaRouche's political journey saw him shift allegiances from the Socialist Workers Party (1949–1964) to the U.S. Labor Party (1973–1979), and finally to the Democratic Party after 1979.
His influence was notable in various political processes, often marked by controversial activities and alliances."
Interesting parallels. I imagine if Trump didn't get elected, he'd be in jail in one of many jurisdictions.

The freaking British had a 84/16 split on oil proceeds since they had the wherewithall to extract the oil. That can only last so long....and it did..

I especially liked the part where he said "I know you Fox news viewers don't really know anything thats going on".

He did show the links to where he got the numbers. You can look them up yourself. They came from the The Arms Control Association (same people G cited earlier)

I thought that was a good little troll for the day.
