We had storms come through last night that knocked my internet completely out. there are no lights at all on the router. I'm trying to use my phone as a hotspot, but the TV asks me for the password for my phone's WIFi. I have no idea what that is. I only ever use my thumbprint.

Is there any way I can get around using the password from my WI? Fi, or is there a way to reset the password for my wiFi?

Your phone number is the password?

mowens

That's too many numbers.

I had to go to the Mobile Hotspot and Tethering function, then click on mobile hotspot where a page displayed a password that looked to be about 12 characters long of random letters and numbers.

on the back of your wifi device there is a tiny hole
stick a paper clip in there and press the tiny button
hold it down till the adapter reboots
that will do a factory reset and you can rebuild your wifi network
with a new password

Either with all your other passwords.
Or for ease, just have the one.

Just go in to settings, connections, mobile Hotspot, turn on and give it a new password. You don't need a factory reset and the pain in the ass that is.
