Quote from: Smit on June 18, 2025, 12:13 PMHow do you feel about the people who are here legally and trying to go through immigration the right way being deported? Or the ones who are here legally and have their permissions canceled by executive orders so they can be deported? Without seeing a judge or course.

Not the violent people, the nonviolent people.

I"m against it, but those cases are not the reason Biden and the Democrats wanted to hire more judges. they wanted to hire more judges to handle the people being picked up at the border. we have enough judges to handle cases like the one that Mowens shared.

The fact is, this young lady is a victim of Biden's porous border. Because now we have such an influx of illegal immigrants it's hard for most officers to tell the difference between legal and illegal.

The judges were to handle the influx of asylum cases. And the Biden administration did restrict the number of people seeking asylum in 2024.

He tried to get congress to pass legislation but you know how that goes...not gonna happen when Republicans want to weaponize the topic for election purposes.

The young lady was in the country many years before Biden was president.

Just wondering, does increasing the number of ICE employees count as growing the government? How about spending billions on detention centers for the people they incarcerate? What would DOGE say about that? :headscratch:

Restricting asylum seekers in 2024 was too late after 10 plus million came across border.

Trump didn't need Congress to stop illegal migration.

Fair point on the cost but you also have to consider the cost to cities to house them , feed them, and treat them etc!

It's not going to be cheap when all of these industries that are already suffering labor shortages, lose the only employees they can find that are willing to do the work. They're more worried about the numbers than they are the who.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that he's managed to close the border.

Biden had nothing to do with her being here. She came here with her parents in 2012 and is a student at the University of Utah. She has an active application for asylum. She was stopped for a minor traffic violation and given a warning. The sheriff's department than reported her to ICE. She shouldn't have been arrested, much less detained and forced to post bond.

I know the Government at a minimum allows 600,000 workers to come in for agriculture work. It will be alright

An estimated 20% of construction workers are illegal immigrants. There are something like 11million construction workers in the US.  You do the math. That's just one industry.

Wouldn't it be nice if the priority was those who aren't actually contributing?
