If they stopped trying to pass off Folgers instant coffee as quality coffee.  What ever it is that goes on in the Republican Party these days is NOT conservatism.

Aren't you the "party line politics is a waste of time" guy?
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Jeff

All of this fake, manufactured outrage being parroted.

Wahhh what about the 3 people that got mistakenly deported? Wahhh

Quote from: mowens on June 18, 2025, 02:31 PMBiden had nothing to do with her being here. She came here with her parents in 2012 and is a student at the University of Utah. She has an active application for asylum. She was stopped for a minor traffic violation and given a warning. The sheriff's department than reported her to ICE. She shouldn't have been arrested, much less detained and forced to post bond.

You are missing my point. I agree that by all accounts she is here legally. my point is that Biden's border policy has made life hard on legal immigrants, because of the fact that so many have come illegally, we have got to the point where we don't know who is supposed to be here and who is not. sort of like if an innocent bystander got arrested at a violent protest, maybe that person was just trying to get home from work and got caught up in the crowd. It would be easy to see how that can happen in a moment of great unrest. well the immigration problem is not so different.

I really do feel bad for the innocent people getting caught up in this. my personal opinion is that I would secure the border. And let non-violent people, who have made it across already have some probationary legal status with a possiblilty for citizenship based on the number of years they have been here. That just feels like a compromise between the right and the left that a majority should be able to agree to.

one further question, though. Why is someone from Brazil seeking asylum in the US? that makes me wonder how the asylum rules are being manipulated.

Immigration Reform Act of 1996

For those concerned about "due process" for ILLEGAL aliens.... may want to have a look at THE LAW .

You probably won't.  You'll continue to parrot what your team tells you to parrot, which is #OrangeManBad

Ridding our nation of illegal aliens in the manner in which they are being deported, at least according to THE LAW is #DefinitelyDueProcessy®

Asylum rules ARE being aabused.  Many asylum seekers WERE coached on the use of key words.

My keywords are GTFOH and come here right. Get in line.

The left conveniently ignores that part and NEVER talks about it.

I read it. It says nothing about due process; it only adds penalties.
Unless I missed something.

Personally I believe if you commit a serious crime as an illegal due process should be moot.

Yes, and a reasonable one at that. Probably even more reasonable than I would be.

As far as Asylum seeker abuse, I blame that on the people who set up that process, not the people who took advantage of it.
