Not to sound too much like Byte, pre covid I had plans to purchase a new vehicle. I figured that I would wait a bit until we got close to the EV mandates in Wa. I don't have the lifesyle that justifies an EV. I considered getting a Hybrid. 

Now, I don't know that I'll ever be able to afford a new vehicle again. Between inflation, vehicle price hikes due to tariffs, rising property tax..  I don't see it getting better from here.

This is coming from someone who has zero debt.

Maybe you could afford one in Kansas. I know the gas is about $2 cheaper a gallon.
