I don't know why, but I always assumed that you guys had a stricter immigration policy up there?

Maybe in the past.

They have very strict background checks, but that can't be the case are bringing in 500000 per year, primarily from India because of the large population it's easy to source people from there

A lot of people in Canada are getting gun licenses and buying guns to defend against Trump if he invades, it's funny to see liberals going pro gun all of a sudden, although the government is buying back weapons with tax payer money..

But make no mistake about it, the United States governments stance on Canada represents a clear and present danger to our sovereignty, the erosion in trust will last for decades

Does Quebec still require new immigrants to learn French?

What do you call an un-armed American?.... A Canadian!

All Jokes aside, I didn't see one white Canadian in Vancouver recently.  And the Natives in Terrace  have it pretty darn good.  seems like most of you guys are trapped between old guilt ( Natives) and new guilt (immigrants).

Trump has no intention of invading Canada and never did.
He was hoping Canada would vote to join the US as a state to get rid of the ridiculous horribly exploitive government
you guys have.

Well, you're entitled to your opinion, but he said it's not off the table, and Trump has already shown he does a lot of what he says, he scared Trudeau to the point of tears lol.

Not bad....

Canada incentivizes immigration through:Economic Programs: Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Programs fast-track skilled workers for permanent residency, targeting ~62% of 2025's 395,000 PR admissions for economic growth.

Financial Benefits: Tax-free payments like Canada Child Benefit ($480–$569/month per child) and GST/HST credits, plus free settlement services (language training, job support).

Targeted Incentives: Healthcare worker benefits (e.g., $500 wellness grants, tuition rebates), Francophone integration projects ($9.3M in 2025), and refugee resettlement programs.

Business Support: Grants and proposed tax credits for hiring newcomers, plus open work permits for specific groups (e.g., U.S. H-1B visa holders).

Cultural Appeal: Multicultural policies and high immigration targets address labor shortages and an aging population.

Challenges: Housing strain, public concern (58% say levels too high), and potential skill mismatches. Visit Canada.ca for details.
