Hawaii and Aleutian islands right in the path...

Get away from the coast if you live in California (Alaska, Oregon, and Washington)

Strongest quake since 2011. And a bad location.

Aleutian islands are getting (or about to?) slammed hard by the looks of it.

Quake just happened so evolving info.

Foretunatley, everything seems 'ok'. I saw this...

...Officials upgraded a tsunami alert to a warning for the northern coast, where waves as high as 3.6 feet were recorded in Crescent City, near the Oregon border.

^ We can deal with 3 1/2 foot waves...

I saw some video of idiot surfers in Hawaii sitting on their boards out in the ocean waiting for the big one.
I think it's hit Hawaii already and the wave was small enough to be survivable.

It's not like they don't surf 40' waves on the regular in the winter there already.

true, but if that 40ft wave carries you a 1/2 mile on shore, it's not going to end well for you when you run out of wave.
