of Howard Stern

QuoteIt wasn't supposed to be like this.

A big, explosive controversy that's impossible to ignore! A jaw-dropping confession that outraged his corporate bosses! Or maybe he'd finally suffer the consequences of speaking "truth to power" — and pay the ultimate price for refusing to back down!

That's how "The Howard Stern Show" was supposed to end.

This November marks the 100th anniversary of TS Eliot's haunting poem, "The Hollow Men." It's a telling coincidence, for it foretold not just the fate of the world, but of a certain shock-jock: "This is the way the [Howard Stern Show] ends; Now with a bang but a whimper."

This week, the news broke.

But calling it a whimper would be an overstatement. It was more of a "tree falling in a forest when no one's around" situation, because Howard Stern's audience abandoned him years ago: "Stern's program has fluctuated from 20 million daily to just 125,000 of late."

Stern, like most older liberal media personalities, got hung up on hating red and lost their relevance with younger generations. Their audiences are dying (figuratively and literally). No one under the age of 50 is listening to Howard Stern.

I despised this guy from the first time I heard him.
I always thought he was an epic POS, and his downfall makes me smile.
He may be uber rich, but an asshat like him lives for the adulation of the adoring crowds,
and those are gone.

I was listening to him regularly before he went to Sirius. The Artie Lange years were the best.

I haven't listened to him in so long I had no idea what direction his show took.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

I know one person tangentially who listened, she's ~50 and they only renew their XM subscription to listen to Stern. Guess that's over, and I bet a lot of people will follow.

And lol, $120 million per year for an audience of 125k. XM radio needs to die anyways, its as junky as FM now.

The guy was a pig.
The first  time I heard him was in the early 90's and he was cracking starving Ethiopian jokes.
I read that he once had a young woman whom he thoroughly humiliated during the show. She killed herself later
the same day.

It was Dana Plato. She had been on the day before.

" On May 8, 1999, at age 34, Plato was found dead in her motor home from an overdose of prescription drugs a day after being on the Howard Stern Show. Her death, while initially considered accidental, was ruled a suicide."

And her son.

"On May 6, 2010, two days before the eleventh anniversary of Plato's death, her son Tyler died by suicide with a gunshot wound to the head. He was 25 years old.[56][57]"

I liked how he said what other people are thinking in a brash way.
He got tragically blue pilled somewhere along the line.

He said many, many times that he hates anyone who voted for Trump.
It's no wonder his subscriber count went from 20 million to 100k.
And I'd love to know how he has 95 people employed for his show. What job titles do these people have?

I knew she died that way, but did make the connection to appearance on the show.
 Jeeze, that's sickening

I don't have to step in a pile of dog shit to know it's a pile of dog shit. Never listened to that pile of dog shit... at least willingly anyway. I worked in a machine shop that had that ass hat's show on the shop speakers for a few weeks. Thankfully someone complained (not me) and HR shut that shit down and went back to rotating music.

Heavy Metal Mondays, Country Music Tuesday's, Mariachi Wednesdays, Classic Rock Thursdays, Pop Music Fridays. I think that's how it went anyway.
