Quote from: Jeff on September 19, 2025, 03:46 AMIt's too bad Liberals didn't feel the same way when conservatives were censored, silenced, and destroyed. Let's review the record:

🔹 Roseanne Barr – Fired by ABC/Disney, hit show canceled overnight in 2018 after one tweet. Hundreds of cast and crew lost jobs.

🔹 Gina Carano – Fired from The Mandalorian in 2021 for posts that didn't fit the Left's politics. Dropped by her agency too.

🔹 Megyn Kelly – Fired by NBC in 2018, her show axed over comments about Halloween costumes.

🔹 Dave Chappelle – Netflix employees staged walkouts demanding his special be pulled for "transphobia."

🔹 Joe Rogan – Spotify targeted with advertiser boycotts, coordinated pressure campaigns over his COVID discussions.

🔹 Tucker Carlson – Taken off Fox in 2023 after relentless left-wing activist pressure campaigns on advertisers.

🔹 Parler – Apple, Google & Amazon teamed up in 2021 to erase an entire platform. Tens of thousands of small creators lost income overnight.

🔹 J.K. Rowling – Blacklisted, harassed, pressured out of projects simply for speaking her mind.

🔹 Mike Lindell – MyPillow pulled from stores, banned from Twitter, advertiser boycotts piled on.

🔹 Alex Jones – Banned across YouTube, Facebook, Apple & Spotify all at once in 2018. Celebrated as the "model" for erasing people.

And last but not least, Donald Trump banned from entire social media platforms.

The difference being most of those people got fired as business decisions resulting from stupid shit they said.  In this case a comedian (not news anchor) said something stupid and the government is violating the constitution by censoring him, using the cudgel of oversight over a planned merger approval to motivate his employer.

In the case of Fucker Carlson (I'm pretty sure I spellt that right) he was fired after crude and misogynistic texts about his colleagues, including a senior Fox executive, and also right after a former producer for his show, Abby Grossberg, filed lawsuits against Fox News and Carlson, alleging she was subjected to a hostile and misogynistic work environment. Oh, and the nearly billion dollars he cost Fox because of the lies about Dominion voting machines.  Same shit that cooked the Pillow Guy.  Alex Jones, isn't he Steve Bannon now, just in a different lizard suit.

can I just ask a dumb question? how do you know that he was fired because of pressure from the government? Bob Iger has stood up to the government before and actually fared pretty well in some of those circumstances. what was different this time?

I understand that could be the case or at least the percieved reason. But how do you know it's the actual reason?

Hi @Jeff :

I must have missed the post where you asked me to provide "proof that the right has done what the left has." Can you please direct me to your posts directed to me?

My comment about "omniscience" attempted to address your absurd assertion that because "I take in news from all points of view. I have no bubble." from Post #338 in this thread. No mention was made of how often "lefty/libtards" commit violence against "MAGATs", or vice versa. My purely anecdotal observations lead me to believe that each side feels that the other side is playing dirty pool, while their team occupies the high ground. Oddly enough, everybody seems quite certain that they're "right." Imagine that!

It's been awful to see some of the comments made out there in the wake of Charlie Kirk's killing. It will be interesting to learn what the killer's motive were-is this guy "just" a wack, was he politically motivated, both/other?

More to the point, isn't murder "still" murder? Are there legal distinctions that pertain to one's political motivations? Would the law be applied differently to "lefty/libtards" vs. "MAGATs"? Anymore these days, it seems like folks like to claim that the "other team" has got their thumb on the scale!

I get all of that. But networks have famously stood up to trump over and over and over again. How do we know that Trump is the reason, that Iger fired Kimmel? That's my question. If someone like Obama or other leftwing heavyweights can sit there and say, we don't know the real reason this kid killed Charlie Kirk even though it was written on the bullets and family members have described his hate for charlie kirk. Then we surely don't know why Kimmel was fired.

Agreed! I'll try to share a few more good ones later....stay tuned!

(Maybe we should start another thread for this?)

It would sure be nice to have some fun/positive stuff here on the group to balance out some of the awful stuff going on in the world these days!

I hope we could ALL agree on that much, at least!

Why do you think one is so obvious, and the other isn't?

Kimell has been shit talking the right for a long time. He's been criticizing Trump since Trumps first term. Do you think it's just a coincidence that he gets suspended while a multi-billion dollar merger hangs in the balance, for making a comment that not only wasn't that bad (in my opinion), but that people are just assuming that they know what he meant by?

Personally, I don't think it has anything to do with the comment Kimmel made, bur more that Trump want's these guys to pay for shitting on him all of these years so he's sicking Brendan Carr, who was the author of the FCC chapter in Project 2025 BTW (Yea, a Trump yes man), on anyone he doesn't want shit talking him.

TBF... there's be a lot of "coincidental" coincidences that get WAY less scrutiny than this.

About 73 by the body my count.

because in one case the motive was written on the bullets and in the other case, Bob Iger hasn't yet spoken about it. Maybe it was because of the pressure Trump put on him. Maybe it didn't have so much to do with FCC license but the fact that Trump's words about the FCC license was a dog whistle for conservatives to start boycotting everything Disney, if they are not already.

All of that aside, my bigger point is, that democrats are showing willful ignorance about an obvious motive and show keen perception into a meeting that happened privately.
