Only as a backup method. Lethal injection is the primary method. There was a guy due to be shot this year, but he was sentenced before lethal injection became the primary method. That guy is like every one else on death row here, dying by natural causes, supposedly dementia in this case.

Side note...I'd rather eat a bullet than die from dementia.
