How many people have been accosted/attacked for wearing a hat or shirt in a public location by a stranger?

How about for flying a flag at half mast?

How about for anything else?

I personally haven't seen much. I think most of the hate is driven by a bunch of talking heads who aren't reporting on news, they're spewing shit to rile up the masses so they can get paid.

Talking heads and social media in particular, but there are lots of people making a lot of money using the language of hate, divisiveness, and persecution.

And the more the the people consume it the more they want. An endless rant of rage and hate that makes it appear it's everywhere.

It would be nice if people would just think before buying into that shit. Maybe try to understand the ramificaitons of the stuff going on in this country and our government.

I know this post is going to get a lot of crazy emojis. Hell, I'd give myself one if I could.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

What we still (erroneously) call the "news media" is really a different animal when compared to 20-30 years ago. In my opinion it looks much more like the entertainment industry ("give the people what they want") today. Engagement drives the content, and the balkanization/fragmentation makes it easier than ever to find and consume only what you want to see/hear. You no longer need be bothered by dissenting points of view. Increasingly we live in echo chambers of our own choosing.

I look at it this way. My neighbor on the street two doors down.

Attached a Palestinian Flag to his chimney.

When I open my door it's the first thing you see.

No American Flag.

So as I walk out in the morning .

I am reminded every Day.

That was sarcasm, Smit. Just in case you didn't know.

I feel like this isn't going to get a lot of attention, just because.
