Hell yeah, that's what I like, a rational person. Let's do the math together, shall we? 44,000 total deaths (first time it's been below 45,000 in five years, sweet) minus 27,000 by suicide, which leaves us with a mere 17,000. Fuck, those lives are practically meaningless with numbers that small. And why even bring up the suicides in the first place, because all of them would have used scissors or a hammer or a fucking combine to kill themselves if a gun wasn't handy.

Justifies 2A even more, right? So sweet to finally be in agreement with the esteemed scholars of FleeMC.

"Guns" are not the problem. We've been killing each other with weapons since the dawn of time. 

You could take away all the guns and we'd kill each other with knives. You could take away all the knives and we'd kill each other with hammers. You could take away all the hammers and we'd kill each other with bats. Youncoukd take away all the bats and we'd just go back to killing each other with rocks. If by some miracle you could manage to take all the rocks away, we're more than happy to kill each other with pens and paper. It's been done before. It'll be done again. 

So, people can convince themselves into thinking an inanimate object is THE SOURCE of the all of society's ills, but the real problem is in the mirror. Each and every one of us has the capacity and the means to take a life. We can deny it all we want, but facts are facts.

If people are not happy with the 2nd Amendment,  call for a Constitutional Amendment. Abolish it. Just remember what happened when they outlawed likka. That gave birth to the mafia. I shudder to think of what happens if they abolish the 2nd Amendment.

He's absolutely right though. Guns have zero impact on the number of murders and suicides in this country. Heck, we all know that the two kids at Columbine would have beaten their fellow classmates to death with rocks, but chose the more challenging route of using firearms, most likely to impress their teachers.

no, I don't really think they are a threat to society, but you mentioned preventing suicides and there seems to be a consensus, that they are statistically prone to suicide. The number I believe is something like 40-44% have made an attempt, so I'm just wondering that, based on that stat alone, should guns be removed from a home that has a transgender person living in it?
