Quote from: neurosis on October 10, 2025, 09:21 AMThe subsidies (tax credits) were added during the Biden administration. They were part of the American Rescue Plan Act.

I'm not smart enough to know if the ACA was a great idea, but the Republicans have been gutting it little by little every chance they get. We'll never really know if it ever stood a chance to be successful.

As far as the design, wasn't a significant part of it based on Republican ideas (individual mandate, etc) that came out of the Heritage Foundation?

Yes, yes, and yes.

Thanks. I didn't know they were added.

So right now, I'm paying for my own insurance and my tax dollars are subsidizing MTG's children's health insurance....that's just great. ::)

You've got it!  We should shut down the schools and just put movie screens on the outside.  Then the kids and their families can sit in the parking lots or playgrounds and watch propaganda films from the drumpf reich.

Republicans believe Government sponsored propaganda is "free speech" protected by the 1st amendment.

To my knowledge, there is nothing in the constitution that forbids it. So it is.

Yeah, you've got me confused on that statement. Was Roosevelt wrong for all of the Govt sponsored propaganda during WWII? or for "encouraging" Hollywood to make patriotic movies during that time?

encouraging is in quotes because the Office of War used to review movie scripts before movies could be made\released. Democrats never seem to like, their own former policy positions.
