Elmer Fudd

The announcers on the Seattle-Toronto game mentionsd Bobs name and he sounded familiar. Then I remembered him owning a shop and being on the forum. I wonder if he is still machining.

He had a shop for many years. He posted somewhere that and his wife were getting a divorce a couple/few years ago. They sold the shop and closed it down. That's the last I heard...

He was out of the manufacturing game. At least for the time being anyway.

I gave him merciless grief for that comparison. He was a smart guy but datum that was moronic.

He was butthurt Haas wouldn't take his suggestions.  Newsflash... Haas doesn't take anyone's suggestions. My dad was a Haas Service Tech.... they didn't take his suggestions either.

They have a product. It's at a certain price point. In order to keep it that way they have to make certain concessions. That's all there is to it. A $3 part isn't just a $3 part when you're talking the volume of machines they make every month. Obviously we're not talking automotive numbers, but some of the highest CNC Machine production numbers on the planet.

He should have at least mentioned the price difference between the Haas and Makino
A wild guess says you could buy 2 Haas VF3's for the price of that Makino.

Pretty close to that depending on their respective option packages.

Wow, I missed that. I remember him setting up his shop, and reading about how much thought he put into it. Sad to hear it went that way.

I wonder what he is doing now.
