Also, Article 8 - War Crimes

(ix) Intentionally directing attacks against buildings dedicated to religion,
education, art, science or charitable purposes, historic monuments,
hospitals and places where the sick and wounded are collected,
provided they are not military objectives;

xxiv) Intentionally directing attacks against buildings, material, medical
units and transport, and personnel using the distinctive emblems of
the Geneva Conventions in conformity with international law;

(xxv) Intentionally using starvation of civilians as a method of warfare by
depriving them of objects indispensable to their survival, including
willfully impeding relief supplies as provided for under the Geneva
Conventions;

none of us know what was going on in there. If you are against Israel you will believe Hamas propaganda. If you are against Hamas you will believe Israeli propaganda. It seems foolish for any of us here in the US to sit here and claim to know. one side says, they were bombing hospitals, the other side says Hamas was hiding in the basement of hospitals.

News reports come out of this or that and soon after those reports are proven to be wrong. none of us know anything about Gaza. We don't even know how many actual children died. How ever many it was, it was too many. that's about all that I know.

Probably both are true.  Hamas being a terrorist organization, we'd expect that of them.  Israel being a fine upstanding nation-state with the respect of the international community... ok never mind.

A nation that has been attacked over and over, generation after generation by it's neighbors and by far away nations through their proxies.

If they would just stop fighting and die already, this could all be over peacefully.

War Crimes for everybody!!!

"Under international humanitarian law (IHL), which includes the Geneva Conventions, it is a war crime to use civilian hospitals or other protected civilian institutions for military purposes. The misuse of these facilities can also be considered a war crime for intentionally using civilians as human shields.

Protected status of civilian institutions
Civilian institutions like hospitals, schools, and places of worship receive special protection under IHL and are not to be targeted in conflict. This is based on the humanitarian principle that civilians and civilian objects should be spared from attack.
However, this protection is not absolute.

Loss of protected status
A civilian institution can lose its protected status if it is used to commit "acts harmful to the enemy". Examples of such harmful acts include:
Using a hospital as a weapons depot.
Housing able-bodied combatants.
Using the facility as a military observation post or command center.
Launching attacks from the building. "

When other Arab states won't take in their Arab brothers and sisters from Gaza, that tells me plenty. No that one side walks on water and the other is pure evil, but it tells me there is enough trouble culturally to be a concern.

@jstell you're COMPLETELY disregarding the undeniable fact Hamas uses their populace, and protected places as shields for their terrorism thus negating said protected statuses. Israel sends food in, Hamas destroys it and blames Israel and tells the complicit MSM "Israel is starving us." Using stock footage from other conflicts and images of children with medical issues as proof. Unless you actually know people there in Israel and the middle east, you don't know what it's going on.

I am absolutely certain Israel is not perfect. However, when your neighbor desires to wipe you off the face of the planet, because you've been mortal enemies for millenia, I'm going to extend some grace.

You're probably one of those people that thinks our seamen, airmen, and soldiers are guilty of war crimes too.

You people throw around "War Crimes" as casually as you do "Hitler". It's pathetic and disingenuous to people that have suffered actual genocide and suffered at the hands of actual war criminals.

"You people..."   Really?!?

I am certain that our forces have committed war crimes, from the burning of villages in Vietnam to collateral damage from errant drone strikes along Pakistan's border with Afghanistan. We even made the "double tap" a signature move, one that has been adopted by both Israel and Russia, to come in with a second round of missiles/bombs shortly after the first, so as to take out civilians and first responders rushing in to render aid to the victims of the first.

I've only tossed Hitler once.  Arguing with my credit union about some stupid fee, their response was that their fees are far less egregious than the average of banks.  And I told them comparing themselves to rapists like Bank of America is as foolish as telling me they're not as bad as Hitler because they only killed three million Jews.  Still totally f---ed, and not something they should be breaking their arms patting themselves on the back about!

If you read more about this you will find that Protected Status is revoked if these builds are for military purposes.
This is something Hamas does on a regular basis.

I'll give you My Lai (sp?) Massacre... you KNOW I'm not talking about Vietnam. Don't be obtuse. I'm talking about the recent 20 year war...

No country tries as hard as the USA does to avoid civilian casualties. Often even to our own peril. Accidents and bad intelligence do not a war crime make.
