Quote from: mowens on October 23, 2025, 07:25 AMHello, Mcfly, anybody home?

He's a politician. It's a given he's going to do that.

Can you name another president who's been convicted of felonies or held liable in multiple civil suits? I get your point that most politicians are scum but Trump has taken it to another level.

Maybe the next Democrat President will turn the new ballroom in to The Museum of Trump Corruption.

I'm not sure if there will be enough space.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

I'm hoping that our next president, republican or democrat, will be an actual adult and not a petty, vindictive, whiny little child.

I think much of the prosecution was frivolous and done purely for political reasons. But having said that, to me, the one that comes closest in the modern era was Bill Clinton.

Saying that now, you need to check your brake lines in the morning and remember to double lock your doors at night.

Quote from: neurosis on October 23, 2025, 06:45 AMIs it a coincidence that he originally said that the renovation was going to cost $260 million and that's close to the number ($230 million) he's asking for in his lawsuit against the DOJ?

This should be posted in the grift thread. Just another money grab.  :secret:

He's pretending to be a politician now.
But he's been dicking people over since the 80s pretending to be a businessman, pretending to be a faithful husband...

I need to amend my answer. The one that comes closest is Nixon. He actually had to resign to avoid impeachment.

Quitter! DJT gets impeached twice and just comes back for more, cause he's not a loser!

Nixon resigned because he was going to be prosecuted and most likely convicted. As soon as Gerald Ford took office he pardoned Nixon.

There is little doubt he would have been kicked out of office. Heck, his vice president had already resigned for being involved in some sort of corruption.  That's how we got Ford.

I don't know how it would have gone had he not resigned but it wouldn't have been good.

Good thing the giant orange sack of lard has a plan for this:  He'll just pardon himself - no need to resign!

Thanks to SCOTUS, Presidents cannot be criminally prosecuted for official acts performed while in office.  He can do just about whatever the hell he wants.

That was back in the good old days when there was a right and wrong. Now it's your side and my side, and nobody will hold anybody on "my side" accountable for anything.
