I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

I met him once back in 2000. Seemed like a pretty cool guy.
I'm sure the left-o-sphere is in rapturous celebration this morning.

I'm going bird hunting in a couple of weeks.

If I'm out with newbies, I always tell them, don't Dick Cheney me, bro. :fun:

The 40+ crowd gets it. The kids, not so much.

Unfortunately this hits home with me pretty hard.
A good friend took his son (12 years old?) out duck hunting a while back. His son accidentally shot him in the face when he stood up.
He didn't survive.

He put the final nail in the coffin of the SR-71 Blackbird. That was unforgivable. That is what I will remember him for most.

No need for celebration.  He's been irrelevant for nearly 20 years.

Tell us oh wise one.... exactly how many companies there are on the planet capable of handling anywhere near the infrastructure projects on the same scale as Haliburton. I'll wait. 50 microbucks if you can name them.

I was not a fan by a long shot, but the Halliburton deal... see the point above.

Always worked out well for Curious George.  Let the bunnies out, help catch said bunnies, get a gift of a bunny for being so helpful.

That's another issue entirely.

I'm now in the camp, that for a long time now, every solution, has been provided for the situation that was previously created/engineered.

He never mentioned faith of any sort... at least publicly.

Uhhhhh yeah. That's kind of a given. It's called the human condition.

We do dumb stuff and create a problem. Sometimes little, sometimes massive. in our hubris create a solution Sometimes something gets better, sometimes it gets a whole lot worse... being human and all we seriously never learn.

We've (the human race "we") have been screwing things up since the beginning.  We think we're all smart and stuff, but the reality is we're making the same mistakes and poor choices today that we made in the past albeit with more technology and often with more large scale consequences.

JM2CFWIW YMMV
