Quote from: YoDoug on November 07, 2025, 09:09 AMI also see how a completely dysfunctional legislature leads to executive overreach.

Republicans have gone out of their way to concede power to the executive branch during this administration. There was a reason for that.  Thank god the budget BBB being passed didn't allow for that. It had to be removed.

The executive branch is supposed to be executing the law.  As in enforcing the law.

It seems like this administration has the incorrect interpretation of execute.

IIRC This time limit was instituted as a result of the delays in the Reagan admin trying to help Burgmaster (bought by Houdaille Industries, and then taken private in an at the time unprecedentedly large leveraged buyout).  All covered in a great book that will make you scream about the bean-counters wresting control from the people who actually know WTF they're doing!  "From Industry to Alchemy: Burgmaster, a Machine Tool Company" by Max Holland.  Originally released as "When the Machine Stopped: A Cautionary Tale from Industrial America".  This is the same book just reprinted with an additional foreword.

But since Trump is in office NOW things are crazy?

And dems did the same for Biden. It's not an R or a D problem, it's both. Trump has signed a lot of EO's, but still not as many as Clinton or Obama did in 8 years each. You just only seem to focus on Trump in your posts.

And you conveniently ignore anything Trump does that you accuse Biden of.

Does that make us even?   Lol

What dems stood up to Biden for his EO's.

I'm not ignoring Trump, I'm saying I think all recent presidents have tried to grab too much power and their respective parties went along with it. Again I think it is a problem of the legislature not doing their job.

You call me biased, but come on. Really?

Do a comparison.

How many eo's were constitutional challenged between the two?

I need to add that I hated biden as a jyi
