No. He said something about condemning political violence and something like that shouldn't happen to anyone. So I will give him that.

I didn't follow his politics. I couldn't stand to listen to him rant. Then again, if I held every artists political opinions against them, there would be a lot of music and movies I missed out on.

I have a friend who has successfully battled crippling addiction, so far. He said at first it was "I'm just smoking pot. At least I'm not doing hard drugs". Then it was "At least I'm just smoking it and not using needles". Finally, he was homeless, living in a stolen car, carrying a gun and using needles. That's when he decided he needed help.

I see it everywhere. All of us should have some model that we look to and say, "I want to be like that guy," rather than say, "at least I'm not that guy."  I think society has lost that.
