Just curious. I could have died a few times mostly from drunk driving or being with a drunk driver. Got off the drug life when friends started freebasing.

I stopped doing drugs in the late 80's early 90's.  I always uber if I know I'm going to be getting intoxicated.

I'm glad that DUI laws are stricter now than they were when my guardians were driving the kids around drunk.

Yeah, I've got many memories like that. But 50 years ago the cops may be more inclined to just give you a ride home rather than take you in for a DUI, and that actually happened to me one time. There were a lot of times I woke up at home without remembering how I got there. Lots of other stuff besides alcohol too. But when the needles came out I never used one. That was a step further than I was willing to take.

Same here now. I'm not a big fan of many of the zero tolerance policies but the DUI laws are actually a deterrent which probably saves a lot of lives and limbs.

Probably not as many as making texting while driving illegal would save, but still a bunch.
