I don't think my imagination is big enough to encompass the ways we would be fucked if Harris had won.

One could say "don't you care about your grandchildren?". Of course I do. I, with too many flaws to count, raised my children the best I could. By the grace of God, they turned out ok. The future is now in their hands. The best thing I can do for my grandchildren is to be present, though that's hard when they live hundreds of miles away, and try to use what I've learned in 69 years of life to help them be happy and have the skills to navigate the world in a positive way.

I figure that I have at most 10 years left on the planet. I don't want to spend it worried about who is doing what politically. I will change what is in my power to change and don't worry about the rest. Help people when I can and live the kind of life that will leave good memories for my family when I'm gone.

In Dante's Inferno there is a great line about the triviality of politics.

Two groups, upon realizing the government is being run by scumbags join together to run the scumbags out of town. And once the scumbags are gone start looking at each other with suspicious eyes and realize the other is the new scumbag. And on and on it goes.

it begs the question, why weren't they scumbags when we needed them or why did they just become scumbags when we don't need them?

That is always the problem with revolution.  What it takes to break the old system is a whole different skillset from what it takes to put a governing coalition together in the aftermath.
(Why repugs continue to fail at governing since Reagan said "gov't is the problem.")

Hell Yeah Brother,

May we not forget this important day of rememberance.
Two 911's and three Pearl Harbors wouldn't hold a candle to the tyrants that walked thru the capitol.

What was the major difference between the events of Pearl Harbor and 9/11, and the events of J6? Think real hard now. You can even use a book or the internet or ask a friend.

So maybe should be compared instead to April 12 rather than December 7 or September 11?

(or maybe 9/11 is apt comparo since it was a self-inflicted attack as well)

Exactly 100 years later.
