Dell UltraSharp 52 Thunderbolt Hub Monitor - U5226KW

It would be interesting to try this in a Cad/Cam environment.
My wife had a 42" at her office that was pretty nice, but I never got to try it for any serious work

Jeff

It would be nicer if it was OLED instead of an IPS panel.
But if you're buying I'll be the guinea pig and test it out for ya. ;D

I'm happy for ya, G. you deserve every bit of it. Got some hobbies you are going to indulge in?

Thinking about getting a German Shepard puppy.
I've had 3 GHD's, always grown or half grown dogs someone dumped in the street.
Civilizing them was hard work, but once you get them trained they are magnificence animals.
I've never raised one from a puppy.
My only concern is my age. A healthy GSD could easily outlive me.

I would love to get another Doberman puppy. Best dog I ever had. He lived with 3 other dogs and 3 cats and never had an issue with any of them.
I have the same concern about my age, plus I live alone so he would be alone too much.

Years ago I lived in a condo and I had a little old woman with an old dog as a neighbor.
Her dog died and she was alone and heart broken. I tried and tried to talk her into getting another dog.
I gave her my word I would bring her dog into our family when she passed, but she absolutely refused to do it.

when my mom passed away she had a nine year old cat. I've got 6 brothers none of us wanted that cat. I don't like cats at all and my wife doesn't either. But I told my wife that cat is 9 years old. It probably won't live that much longer. that stinkin' thing lived another 10 years. It just died this last summer. I admit to be a little sad about it though, like I had lost another piece of my parents.

My wife just got the dual 27's of this monitor.  We both use dell precisions so the lightening bolt features built in and the ability to daisy chain them is nice.  I don't use two monitors anymore so that 40" might be my birthday present.

I'd like this 40"er better than the one my wife had
It was too narrow
This one is 24.5 x 18.6, a very nice size for cad/cam work.
It's still a little to much coin ($2K) for a retired guy watching cat videos  ::)

You might want to look at Shiloh Shepards instead.  They don't get the hip problems that German Shepards get. We've had both.

Most of the larger breeds don't live very long.  I and the wife just had our last dog put down last week.  She was 12 years old.

You're right, my Dell U3824DW is starting to look a bit small. Perfect time for an upgrade!

I'll take one of the new 5th gen QD OLED monitors.
Those things have an insane picture!
