In my lifetime that situation occurred below the Mason-Dixon line from time to time. When being a black man enjoying a good time with a white woman was considered pretty darn risky. He might end up lying in bed in a hospital or lying in a casket. That of course was right here in America.

Some Americans reflect fondly on those times as "The good old days."
