I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Last week there was a guy who tried to storm the Capitol building with a shotgun. He didn't get himself killed, I guess he hit the ground as soon as the cops told him to.

The crazies are coming out. Maybe it's a wonder it doesn't happen more often.

If Trump is literally Hitler, if his administration is full of actual Nazis, if ICE is the Gestapo, then why would we call them crazy?

Wouldn't their actions be patriotic, heroic even?

Valid point. But everything is relative. And in the short run everything is in the eye of the beholder. For example, many people see the J6 participants as patriots or maybe even heroes. Others see them as deluded, brainwashed, violent cultists who are pretty much the exact opposite of patriots.

How will history remember them? Hard to know right now. If the U.S.A. embraces fascism and fascists write the history books, they'll likely be remembered as patriots and heroes. If not, then not.

If Hitler was assassinated in 1932, before he started consolidating power, history might have condemned his assassin as the guy who prevented a gifted politician from Making Germany Great Again. Perhaps as a crazy person. Unless somebody has a crystal ball and could see what the assassination of Hitler prevented from happening, then they would have praised the assassin as a hero and patriot, and for saving so many lives.

Calling people "Hitler" and Nazis certainly isn't  new. I don't know if anybody ever said "literally" Hitler and Nazis, probably so considering the sheer volume of times "Nazi" has been used. I would not agree with anybody saying Trump is literally Hitler. If somebody wanted to draw parallels between what Hitler and other fascists did to consolidate power and then inflicted on their own countries and the world I think it would be an interesting comparison.

How long have you been sitting on that, waiting for just the right moment to post it?  :hrhr:

TBH, I had to google around for it for a second, but I knew it was the chef's kiss perfect thing to post. My meme rolodex is magnificently[embarrassingly?] complete.

"Hmmm, lets try 'video where guy goes back in time to kill hitler many jews comedy' that should do it."

That's (almost) funny.  But it is a good example of why traveling back in time has been (sort of) proven to collapse the space-time continuum into meaninglessness.
