Man, Abigail Spanberger really sucks!

Radical Left's Rebuttal Will Contrast Democrat Extremism with President Trump's Road to Prosperity

QuoteAbigail Spanberger will deliver the Democrat response to President Donald J. Trump's State of the Union tonight.

Spanberger, like the rest of the Radical Left lunatics in her party, is fully against President Trump's agenda of lowering costs, bringing back manufacturing, and securing our borders — instead favoring a return to the Biden-era carnage she was "proud" to support.

Spanberger has a long history of supporting open borders, soft-on-crime policies, reckless spending, tax hikes, radical climate mandates, extreme gender ideology, and woke DEI initiatives — positions that endanger American families and underscore the catastrophe Democrats will once again unleash if given the chance.

Spanberger prioritizes criminal illegal aliens over Americans:

Weeks after becoming Governor, she swiftly terminated Virginia's agreement with ICE, halting state law enforcement cooperation with federal immigration enforcement — giving criminal illegal alien killers, rapists, and gangbangers a pass.

During her time in Congress, she repeatedly undermined border security by voting against the Secure the Border Act, supporting a pathway to citizenship for more than two million illegal aliens, co-sponsoring an amnesty bill for millions of illegals, and twice voting to terminate President Trump's national emergency declaration at the southern border.

Spanberger undermines law enforcement at every turn:

She refused to condemn an extreme D.C. crime bill that reduced penalties for violent criminals and put millions of citizens and visitors to the nation's capital at risk.

She has consistently supported defunding the police efforts, accepting tens of thousands in campaign contributions from groups advocating defunding and marching with a group that claimed "law enforcement doesn't protect or save our lives."

Spanberger's support for reckless spending fueled record inflation and higher costs for families:

She enthusiastically supported Biden's multi-trillion-dollar tax-and-spending spree — ignoring warnings about skyrocketing inflation.

She opposed President Trump's landmark 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which cut taxes for 80% of taxpayers — calling it "irresponsible" — and also opposed the Working Families Tax Cut, which delivered unprecedented tax relief to nearly every American.

Her party proposed over 50 new taxes on Virginians just weeks after taking office.

Spanberger embraces Radical Left climate extremism that drives up energy costs:

In January 2026, she proudly announced Virginia's rejoining of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, imposing costly regulations on energy producers that raise electricity bills for families and businesses.

She cheered Biden's reentry into the Paris Climate Agreement, a scam projected to cost American families over $20,000 in lost income, eliminate hundreds of thousands of jobs, and inflict trillions in economic damage.

Spanberger pushes extreme gender ideology that undermines fairness and safety:

She voted against passage of the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, which would bar biological males from competing in women's and girls' sports.

She voted twice to allow men in women's bathrooms, locker rooms, and changing rooms.

She advocated against commonsense restrictions on radical gender-affirming care for minors, prioritizing ideology over parental rights and child welfare.

Spanberger advances woke DEI and divisive ideologies:

Her cabinet includes a "Chief Diversity Officer" who thinks the U.S. Constitution should be dismantled and claimed DEI is a "constitutional mandate."

She has ties to extremist organizations pushing so-called "Critical Race Theory."

Spanberger backs a Democrat takeover of federal elections:

She cosponsored and voted for a bill to take away control of elections from state governments — making it "easier to cheat and easier to manipulate election results."

Tonight, while President Trump highlights the successes of his America First agenda in slashing costs, revitalizing manufacturing, securing our borders, and delivering real relief — Spanberger's response will only underscore her party's commitment to the failed lunacy Americans rejected.

Americans deserve better than the Radical Left's vision of higher taxes, weaker borders, and divisive ideology. While Spanberger and Democrats stand firmly in opposition to prosperity, President Trump is delivering real results for all Americans.

Well, did someone watch it so we can have the Cliff's Notes?  I really don't want to sit thru this senseless drivel any more than I want to watch the drivel it's blathering on about.

One good thing about AI is we don't have to watch drivel and blathering. :)

From whatever AI DuckDuckGo uses:

QuoteOverview of Abigail Spanberger's Speech

Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger delivered the Democratic response to President Donald Trump's State of the Union address on February 24, 2026. Her speech focused on contrasting Trump's optimistic portrayal of the nation with the struggles many Americans face.
Key Themes
Economic Concerns

Spanberger emphasized that many families are still struggling financially, despite Trump's claims of a "golden age."
She highlighted the burden of rising costs, stating that tariffs imposed by Trump have led to increased prices for consumers and harmed farmers.

Immigration Issues

Spanberger criticized Trump's aggressive immigration policies, citing wrongful detentions and family separations.
She expressed concern over the use of poorly trained federal agents in cities, which she argued has led to unnecessary harm to American citizens.

Call to Action

Spanberger urged Americans to question whether Trump is truly working for their interests, asking direct questions about affordability and safety.
She framed her message as part of a broader Democratic strategy to focus on affordability and safety leading into the midterm elections.

Conclusion

Spanberger's speech aimed to resonate with voters by addressing their everyday challenges and contrasting them with the administration's narrative. Her remarks are part of a larger Democratic effort to regain control in upcoming elections.

At least once in the last two weeks a conservative has stumbled upon this forum for the first time and scurried away in disgust, thinking, "damn, that place is filled with nothing but a bunch of liberals."

Sorry neuro

It would seem there's a handful in the last few weeks who have stumbled in for the nineteen-hundredth time and scurried off for the same reason.
Congrats neuro on the site having members for 1901 days!

TBH, I thought this place was toast before the first year was up.  It was a struggle keeping anyone who didn't fit the "conservative" mold. Anyone who had a difference of opinion was ridiculed and name called until they left the forum.

Kinda ironic that it's all that's left?
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

No irony, just proves the oft stated:
"Republicans are snowflakes."

Or the other refrain:
"MAGA meltdown when confronted with facts."

Ironic indeed. I've been dogpiled by a dozen or more guys many times over the years. Still stuck around, no worse for wear.

The Trumpers hear a little dissonance in their echo chamber that they can't shout down so they head to safe spaces I guess.

I have noticed quite a few "guests" lately.

It's funny, on the other nutter predominantly conservative forum I frequent, the Trumpsters are digging in, defending their guy even more fervently, coming up with lies and half-truths that would make even some on here blush.

I must be obtuse-I've never figured out why anyone would want to discuss politics on a machining forum. It's like the worst of all possible worlds...you're discussing politics (yuck) with the single group of people least likely to be open to honest/open debate! Everybody wants to be "right"....honest inquiry is a foreign concept. I'd say that we're neck and neck with enginerds in this regard, but at least with that cohort you've probably got an extra 20 IQ points to work with!

Neither party has enough "EQ" to really "pass" in what we'd call polite company, so we work in machine shops and argue about stuff we can't change, all the while keeping score in a game that only we care about!

Doh!

PS-I'd love it if this place had more technical content, but I guess that's just too boring when we already do that all day long for money. It's much more fun to second guess the "libtards" or the "MAGATs" or the economists, or the immunologists, or whatever other group we dislike. Don't confuse me with facts- my mind is made up!

My dumbass is still here.  I'm not necessarily a Trumper, just an American.  I'm not sure there's a D and R argument in America going on.
I maybe think there's a struggle with people that understand the constitution and others that want to change how the west works.
People (the royal we) are not educated on what founded the principles 250 years ago.  Radicals think they have some "great" ideas, when in fact the olds had a great plan that has stood us up for 250 years successfully.
Fuck Progressives - ain't broke, don't "fix" it

To piggyback on my statements - without borders, you simply don't have a country. Most countries have laws in which govern who may pass.

Legally immigrate based on laws set by the governing body = citizenship

Anywaz, I've wasted my typing, Smit tells me I'm stupid

Poor old lil Stew. He always treats people with the utmost respect but they're just mean to him....for no reason at all. :(
