Clarity/Addition

City/square mile has some different laws to the rest of England.
And its own police force.
It has a permanent person sat in parliament behind the speaker, who approves or not, decisions (the Rembrancer).
Regarding the statement of the crown corporation.... people think of the Queen/King as the crown BUT they are only allowed into the square mile by invitation of the Mayor. And will be escorted by the Mayor.
So the fact that the square mile is controlling the crown, means defacto the crown is nothing to do with the Queen/King.
They, are "just the figure head".

It must also be said that the legal area - which created laws for all the world (i think you'll find still overly controls them too despite what google etc says)- the Temple has 4 Inns of court, the highest 2 Inns (Inner and Middle temple) the Mayor is not allowed to enter.

So, Royalty only allowed to enter the city with permission and escort by the Mayor.
But Mayor not allowed to enter two Inns of court.

Of course, it's Temple Bar, named after the Knights Templar....as this was their HQ....
Oh.... and it is surrounded by 32 boroughs making the city 33.
Nice Masonic number....

Lastly - Founding Fathers: More signatories of the American Declaration of Independence (five) and the US Constitution (seven) were members of Middle Temple.
Middle Temple Library houses the largest collections of American legal materials outside the US.
The US legal system has its own "American Inns of Court," which are modelled after the London Inns but are (apparently) entirely independent and have no formal legal link to them (:snerk:).
