My Gramma always said her older brother had polio in the 40s and it was cured by bathing in seawater daily for 3 years. So if you live by the ocean, you could do that instead of a vaccine if you get it.

The reason for initial high levels was dirty filthy water with open sewers running into farm rivers and out to sea, and this water being used for farming contaminating food, and water, and kids swimming in the contaminated rivers

Clark County had fallen to ~78% immunization.  Natural consequences.  The law (EHB 1638) ended a personal/philosophical exemption for MMR vaccine for public and private school attendance.  Religious and medical exemptions are still permitted.  2019 saw 71 cases, 61 unvaccinated.  2026 they have 8, 6 unvaccinated.  So maybe better, since nationwide 2019 was 1200+, so far in three months of 2026 it's 1671, compared to 2285 for all of 2025.
