I spent 3 weeks in Malaysia... that was the most uncomfortable I've ever been. I had to take a shower just to dry off. It was mid-90's in the day, and the humidity was off the charts. Every afternoon ~1:00pm it would rain for a bit and just crank it up some more. I was lucky, I was working in a climate controlled building. 

I can't even begin to imagine what jungle warfare must've been like for those guys day in and day out.

This makes me think of one of my best friends I ever had. Do to a myriad of things we lost track of each other. He was in Special Forces in Vietnam. He told of going on long range recon patrols and of being in the bush watching enemy soldiers going by just a few feet from him. I think his specialty was light weapons.

He and his wife separated one time; she was staying with a friend in a sketchy part of town. She called him and said someone was peeking in the windows, so he and I went over there. Well, he decided we should go look for the peepers so off we went, just me and him, walking up and down alleys in this sketchy part of town. We had no weapons. I don't know what would have happened if we had found someone.

I looked him up recently and found out he had past away 3 years ago.
