I wasn't *too* worried that I'd disturbed the force here (though perhaps I'd annoyed some with my oddball musical "taste"...-LOL).

I don't have the history with the group that some here have, but the "great resource and wealth of knowledge" you mention seems a little sparse in the time I've been here. I can't tell if it's been replaced with political bickering and tribal nonsense, or if it even existed in the first place.

As I'm not a Mastercam user (I use TopSolid in my business), I have little to offer in that regard, but I suspect that many folks here have both a wealth of MC-specific knowledge, as well as a breadth of more general machining/programming experience to share-if only we could ditch the name calling and snark. We sound like a bunch of cranky old machinists! (I'm 60, so I consider myself a member of this cohort, but perhaps less cranky than most- I dunno).

James sure seems like he shares what he knows (thank you!)-on several forums, no less, and Ron clearly leads the pack in this regard (over on the EMC group-when did he ditch this place?) but much of the rest of the crew here seems have fallen into full-on bitch mode...."ours go to 11!" Man-I don't get it!

I'm a big believer in "you do you" but the tenor of this group lately leaves me thinking that most of us just want to argue and complain-there's so little technical content here (or perhaps it *is* here but can't/won't be shared) that it would be difficult to recommend this place to folks looking for MC-specific or machining advice.

WTF? We can't do better? What a bunch of lame-os we've become....

Yeah, yeah.... I get it that I sound kinda schoolmarmy sometimes, but jeez people-step back and listen to yourselves sometimes! For a bunch of "professionals" we sure come across as a bunch of belligerent/drunk/bitchy old cranks....would you want to listen to you if you stumbled across this place?

I don't think so....we're so much better than this-please, we gotta live up to our potential here!
