Here's Johnny!

Don't really care for the levels as it stands currently, not sure who thought the eye thing was a good idea.

in 2026R2U1, all off and on works properly and I use the right click Hide/Show command a lot.

I really like the ability to put a bunch of Levels into a Group and turn the whole Group off or On with a single click.
That is very useful

Did they fix the part where merging files breaks grouping?

Yes, the merge issue should be resolved and some of the biggest fixes also went back into R2 Update 1. If there are merge issues remaining, we'd like to hear about them.

I think the remaining "issues" with merge will be around expectations in conflict scenarios when merging, and always doing something that seems sensible. IE meeting expectations for merging mainly in the third case of the three below.

No groups -> Groups
Groups -> No Groups
Groups -> Groups

Similar in concept to some of the competing expectations with solid names and the like when coming from solidworks and dealing with configurations.

It's tedious to use, it actually disrupts my workflow, levels are something I use each dat very heavily, the x seemed much more responsive and easier to see

So... there's been a truckload of complaints about 2027 (as with ALL new versions). Well, I have a "Job well done".
Those of us in the 5-Axis world from time to time have issues with plane management. We forget to assign the correct Base WCS, or we want to change from one kinematic to another (A/C to B/C, etc...). Best I can recall, the previous versions forced us to go into each operation and change the WCS. For a part with a few operations it's not a big deal, but a part with dozens or hundreds of operations this is a nightmare. A certified, time consuming, tedious,. mind numbing nightmare. No More.

They made the Edit Common Parameters, Planes, work as it should.

I like this.

So the fixed functionality that should have existed/worked 10 years ago... ?!?!?!?

This was actually changed back in....2025? To allow for divergence of plane changes via edit common parameters to push only WCS while retaining Tplane, etc.. And, unsurprisingly, there are some that were unhappy with the change because it changed the workflow/use of that edit common parameters dialog. As a multiaxis user, I have been enjoying it.

Zoffen, I'd like credit please for the 2 years sooner we fixed it than you assumed.  ;)

In that case, I l MUCH prefer the new interface for that plane change. It's WAY more intuitive as to what's akshully changing. :cheers:

Plane changing OK for me. LOVE the deburring. Anything else I found I already have a work-around for as normal.

Whenever I work on a pre 2027 file I STILL have the "ghost active" problem in levels. You select a GVIEW (I have CP and TP set to follow GV) I'll look up and the previous CP and TP will still be highlighted along with the one I just chose. Makes me re think life.

The machine def and control def I'm having to get used to but I understand what they did and somewhat why.

I like this.

I tie my planes in to a dot and arrange them with viewsheets.

The "previous view" icon still throws me to a system plane and WCS if my previous plane matched the view of a custom plane regardless of the origin or offset number. They should just start with no planes and make us create our own. That was humor.
