I had a 2000 GMC extended cab with a 496.  That truck was a blast to drive but only got about 8mpg in town and 12mpg on the freeway.  I hated getting rid of that thing.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

you could drive that puppy around the world twice and it would not generate
the carbon output created by the mining of lithium and production one set of batteries for a
Telsa.

I'm curious what it would be like to be a motorcyclist behind one of those when it lights up.

I don't actually believe they are going to install anything serious for rocket propulsion. Seems to be more of a posturing move to see if it creates a buzz/interest.

The Cyber truck was one of those, but actually had a prototype and serious product roadmap.
they got 250,000 preorders within days and now allegedly stand north of 500,000 orders as of a year ago, worldwide.
The Ford effort got 45,000. So...um.. congrats...i guess.

So, would I buy a $50,000 cybertruck that is freaking bullet proof and looks all science fiction that it's specs beat the Ford in every way verses buying a $90,000 Ford that looks........... like a Ford F150.......

easiest answer in the known universe.

Not anymore. They are all just stupid HIGH.

Rental companies sold off tons of cars during the 'Rona lockdowns. They figured to make some quick cash and then buy new cars when things opened back up. Problem is, now they can't get new ones. At least not enough to replace what they sold off. A number of auto makers have shut down multiple lines due to part and raw material shortages. Sea freight shipping is also a total shitshow right now. A local Ford/Toyota dealer who normally has 400 new cars and trucks in inventory currently has 70.

Same around here. Ford dealership very low on inventory.

What I recall reading some time ago was they were going to have a compressed air thruster, and a built in air compressor.

Here's something more recent:
