1 guy here sold several for $12,000.

They are hitting business's with Trucks and walmart is a favorite spot  here in E'ville.

Plumbing Business's and Heating and cooling Business's cause the trucks are parked overnight.

Henderson Kentucky is also seeing a lot of thefts.

they could just make selling scrap converters illegal

In Michigan you need to hand over an ID to sell them to a scrap yard. I can see that being overlooked though.

I'm actually giving my deck a facelift after about 30 years of service.
Replacing the top handrails, and swapping the pressure treated lattice for the white plastic type.
I did my pool deck in the white plastic and it looks much better, so we decided to upgrade the house deck as well.

I may end up replacing the steps and bannister as well, but I haven't fully decided that yet.
They are still functional, but very weather-beaten.

About 8 years ago my wife and I flipped a house that had a good sized back deck. Unfortunately the pressure treated decking was pretty ugly although it was sound. I ended up flipping over the decking and then painting the whole thing with a special decking resurfacer that I got for a steal at a Habitat for Humanity Restore. It turned out great!

It's effin' ridiculous on lumber prices, so glad I'm not building right now.  I almost can't understand how the housing market is blowing up here, there's new construction in every imaginable place.

Houses for sell have a "for sale" sign in the yard that lasts on average TWO DAYS till there's a SOLD sign on top of it.

We're selling this fall and moving.

I don't understand paying more for a house than it's worth or building one when materials are so outrageous.

Inflation is getting bad.
