Washington State is run by complete morons.    I think they are trying to take the record for lunatic politicians away from California.

QuoteSEATTLE (AP) — Washington state is embarking on a massive experiment in police reform and accountability following the racial justice protests that erupted after George Floyd's murder last year, as nearly a dozen laws took effect Sunday.

But two months after Gov. Jay Inslee signed the bills, law enforcement officials remain uncertain about what they require, leading to discrepancies around the state in how officers might respond — or not respond — to certain situations, including active crime scenes and mental health crises.

"The laws were written very poorly, and the combination of them all at the same time has led to there being conflicts in clarity and in what was intended versus what was written," said Rafael Padilla, the police chief in Kent, a south Seattle suburb.

And here is the kind of shit that happens when you hamstring  your law enforcement.

Agreed.
If they aren't even allowed to do their job, what's the point?
Kudos to those who continue to work with one hand tied behind their back by the idiot politicians who make those stupid policies.

It wouldn't surprise me anymore if there was now a law that if the police officer is getting shot at they would need to put their arms in the air and surrender. Or call the mayor/governor to get permission to fire their weapon.

I love the fact that these politicians blame everyone but themselves.

QuoteAs a city, we cannot continue on this current trajectory of losing police officers," Durkan said during a press conference on Monday. "Over the past 17 months, the Seattle Police Department has lost 250 police officers which is the equivalent of over 300,000 service hours. We're on path to losing 300 police officers."

And they are suprised. Sometimes it is truly amazing to watch the liberal mind at work.

They are just following their constituency.

I don't think that people vote for policy anymore. They vote against the other side regardless of policy.

Congress rarely sees anything above a 30 percent approval rating and yet the same morons continue to be voted for time and time again.. I suspect that it isn't any different for city council members.

Funny thing about polarization.

Seattle, and most of King County, are full of ex Californians so they definitely brought the stupid.
