Long term, it's meaningless
The high capacity magazine ban was declared illegal by a 3 judge panel on the 9th Circuit Court in 2019
It lasted one week before it was reinstated pending appeal.
During that week, it was legal to buy hi cap magazines and it is still legal to own magazines purchased
from the afternoon of March 29 to 5 PM on April 5, 2019 (Friday to Friday
It will be no different with this latest assault rifle ruling. It will be stayed early next week and rendered moot by years
if not decades of appeals.
The only thing that will ever change this is a solid affirmative decision by the Supreme Court
To date the SC has bent over backwards to avoid taking on such a case

I believe the decision was stayed be the issuing judge.
don't forget the 10 day waiting period was ruled unconstitutional also.

It'd be nice to sue the actual judges infringing on their own decisions

I wish people would stop calling them "assault" rifles.

He stayed the decision for 30 days. It was a strategic decision. I think, honestly, it was the correct one. The wording of the decision. Very precise, unlike the law's justification(s).

The magazine ban overturned for a week (also known as freedom week). Also a strategic decision. Well over 1,000,000 30 round magazines were sold.. in one week... in one state. Prior to that it was completely unknown just how many were in the wild. Now, back to strategy. Clearly long gun violence did not increase since freedom week. This is part of the argument. They are commonly owned items (same with semi-automatic rifles).

Same with CCW's. Anti-2a folks claim "There's going to be blood in the streets." "It will be the Wild, Wild, West", "But, but, public safety", etc... None of it came to pass of course. The numbers are increasing every year with  no problems so far with permit holders. There's roughly 130,000 CCW holders in the state presently.

The drag in all of this is it takes so long to move through the courts. That's the part that sucks. Quick to violate our rights. So very long if close to impossible to get them back. Better to not lose them in the first place.

That's a tried and true liberal tactic.
Change the meaning of a word, then scare the chit out of people with it.
