Facts, not feelings.  I don't care how angry you are, or how many times it's happened, you don't get to shoot someone for theft or vandalism.  And when you do have a legitimate cause to shoot someone, you MUST stop when the threat stops.  Anything else makes you a badguy too.

Well fuck. You take all the joy out of the shooting someone.

Lots of catalytic converters thefts around here.

He should have just started it up, put it in gear, and hit the gas.  A tire over the gut might not kill the guy, but would at minimum hurt like hell.  Plus you could explain it away saying you didn't know he was there...

Quote from: DUM1 post_id=12510 time=1623962646 user_id=130what if ? you were late to work because you had to take public transportation and on the way you got mugged and lost your wallet and phone then when you finally got to work you got fired for being late and then when you finally got home your house was empty and wrecked because you weren't there and while you were sitting there on the curb wondering what the fuck to do you saw a guy stealing the cat out of your neighbors car ?

Yeah, that would qualify as a bad day in anyone's book.
If my house was empty, that means my guns would have been stolen too, so I wouldn't be able to shoot the thief even if I wanted to.  :harhar:

The original story said the guy caught the thief in the act.  Assuming his upper body was under the vehicle as he removed the cat, and his lower body was sticking out, I would probably be tempted to plant my size 10 steel toe in his nut sack, then call 911.   :w00t:

Good move. Plus, as an added bonus you wouldn't be spending time doing time.
