Hah, as the title states...

I have a customer who has just got three new workstations. They booted them up, installed Mastercam X9 and 2017 (they're off maintenance).

Both versions ran fine. Then, they ran Windows update and installed the latest updates. After that, HaspX no longer sees the Hasps, and Mastercam won't start.

Has anyone encounterered this? Is it a known problem, and is there a fix?

I'd ask our reseller, but well, he's completely useless, and a d!ck to boot.

I had a similar issue.  IIRC I redownloaded and reinstalled the HASP driver from the Mastercam site.  Took a couple tries but eventually worked.

They likely installed with the Windows updates a Hasp update that blows it up...

Typically need to reinstall the Mastercam version of the manager...should be available for D/L on Mastercam.com

Thanks for the replies.

We did download the latest Hasp drivers for Mastercam.com, and installed as administrator. However, that didn't fix it. The workstations still don't see the Hasps.

Have you tried different USP ports?
I believe you are supposed to install the drivers with the hasps NOT plugged into the machine

In all my years, I have never installed the drivers, without the Hasp plugged into the machine, and they have always worked.

This is the first time, in a long long (long!) time, I've encountered a Hasp driver failure. And it is across multiple machines. I've tried three different hasps, in different ports, on each machine. And none work.

I'll try installing the drivers without the hasp plugged in, and see if that works.

you can also plug in the hasp and go to Settings/Bluetooth and other devices
choose Add a Device then the + sign /everything else and let Windows search for the Hasp
this has worked for me in the past.
Make sure the USB port is powered up... test it with a USB drive
New PC's ship with very aggressive power management settings these days.
Setting you PC so it won't work saves power and is good for mother earth..

LOL... to h*** with Greta :)

We did try the hasp in a working PC, and and yes, they're all fine. Definitely not a dumb question.

I'll get them to try your other suggestions, thanks.

That was the first thing I checked. I got caught out with that many years ago. It was set to Local.

The light on the Hasp is lit, which is normally a good thing. But the Hasp Utility doesn't see it, and Mastercam wont start.

confirm that this is the drivers download you ran
Sentinel_LDK_20200608_setup.zip
You could also download and install X22
Obviously it won't run on those hasps, but installing it might get the hasp drivers straightened out

Yes, it was the version above that was downloaded and installed.

Can I download X22, without being on maintenance?

IIRC non maintenance users can still access the forum, I am not sure if that applies for all the downloads, I think it does?

I would think you could download MC2022 as the formal download will also be the home learning edition
once they have the licensing worked out
I'm looking forward to playing with  Port and Blade Expert once they have it working
