Just finished watching. Morikawa wins. He is of Asian decent. Heading for the Olympics.

Not only was his speech Hilarious, He called out someone for their Birthday and The crowd started Singing "Happy Birthday to You"

But His defining words to me were.

"When you get a chance to play for your Country The USA in The Olympics , It is an Honor"

I may have not correctly quoted that perfectly.

But I will watch and Cheer .

Thank You Collin Morikawa......Yes Two L's.

I haven't been very Proud Lately.....

He gave me a smile.

I'm glad he won. I didn't want Doosh Spieth to win. Can't stand him.
Collin had a couple of missteps on the last couple of holes and went into the heavy rough but that didn't seem to faze him. The kid was in the zone.
His 1st time playing in that tourney also.

Collin has been one of the up and coming young players out there on tour, so now he has arrived!  :cheers:
I couldn't be happier for him, especially after his comment about representing his country in the Olympics.
That's the kind of attitude every American Olympic athlete used to have, before they decided to start using it as a political venue.
I hope Collin brings home the Gold!

Speaking of golf, this is as good a place to put this as any.
We had a man killed by a lightning strike on a local golf course on Friday.  :cry:

Today I just found out he was a guy who retired from here a few years back who I had actually played golf with a few times.
His name was Joe Slivinski, and when he worked here he was an Engineer who I had the opportunity to work with on several projects.

You couldn't find a nicer guy to work with, or to enjoy a round of golf with. (He was also a very good golfer with a single-digit handicap. :thumbsup: )
A great family man who was happily married for 44 years, and had 2 kids and 3 grandkids.
He will be sorely missed.  :cry:

This past weekend was our Club championship at the course I belong to.

Saturday, I ended the day setting in second place in the "B" flight

Sunday..... I shit the bed

That happens even to the pros, so don't feel too badly.
The bad part for them is when they choke, the whole world may be watching on tv.
