If the mandate makes it through court I'm hoping it will be next year so I can retire from here and find a less than 100 employees machine shop to work at. If not my 401k will still grow if I pull $150k a year out of it.

My question is why the HUGE rise in deaths now (UK and Spain) when there's a big % of the population "jabbed".
Is that info easy to find ?

Are the majority of people who are dying still unvaccinated?

We're having huge spikes here as well and they're attributed to the Delta variant of the virus. A majority of people who are dying are unvaccinated.

That is what they are saying here.
The death rate is higher now than it was at the peak last year before the vaccine rollout
however
what I see with my own eyes...
here at work 120+ employees, 65% unvaccinated .. we haven't had anyone sick in months

IMO, it's timing thing. The vaccines are seeming to lose effectiveness after 4-6 months. I also wonder if if people with waning vaccines are more susceptible to infection. Time will tell.

I work for a small shop.. I think that we have about 17 people working here.  In the last month 2 have had covid.

When all of this started I couldn't name a single person that had it.   Since the beginning of the summer I know at least 20 people who have had it, several who have been hospitalized, and 2 who have died from it.

There was still 500+ employees where i was working, we hadn't had any cases when i left in forever, there werent very many cases at all throughout the whole pandemic, almost like it wasnt a pandemic.

The areas are large and well ventilated, which could be a factor

Both people who have had it here, I was one of them, got it from outside of the shop.

The other guy got it from his kids.  His son is in his 20's and was out doing what 20 year olds do.  He got sick and brought it home with him.

I still don't know where I got it.  I think that it was at my dentist office but I can't be sure.

Most are jabbed from what I'm reading.

Out of curiosity, where are you reading that?  I just read an article saying exactly that.  Most people being hospitalized and/or dying are unvaccinated.

I should add - I don't know how old the article was and only skimmed through it.

Found it -  You'll have to tell me if you find their reporting credible.  :D

https://www.bbc.com/news/health-58545548">Covid deaths rare among fully vaccinated - ONS

QuoteOut of more than 51,000 Covid deaths in England between January and July 2021, only 256 occurred after two doses.

They were mostly people at very high risk from illness from Covid-19.

The figures show the high degree of protection from the vaccines against illness and death, the ONS said.

Quote"Breakthrough" deaths - occurring at least two weeks after the second jab along with a first positive PCR Covid test - tend to happen in the most vulnerable, men and those with weakened immune systems, with the average age being 84.

But overall numbers were very small - they accounted for only 0.5% of all deaths from Covid-19 over the first six months of the year.

Julie Stanborough, from the ONS, said: "Our new analysis shows that, sadly, there have been deaths of people involving Covid-19 despite them being fully vaccinated.

"However, we've also found that the risk of a death involving Covid-19 is much lower among people who are fully vaccinated than those who are unvaccinated."

Among those who died after two doses, 13% were immunocompromised, 61% were male and more than 75% were clinically extremely vulnerable.

In the UK, 80% of people aged 16 and over have had two doses and nearly 90% have had one dose.

I for one have been getting the flu shot since I hooked up with my wife in 94. I also got the Pfizer's 1 and 2 because I'm not going to be responsible for getting my wife sick if I can help it. But hey, that's just me.

Not sure about that data but the problem with citing deaths from vaccine based on the VAERS data is that none of those deaths are attributed to vaccine deaths...they are reported deaths of people who received the vaccine....they could have died of any reason but because they were vaccinated, it was reported.
