The left has been hijacked by extremists, which is what they coincidentally accuse the right of all the time. Maher knows this. He is smart enough to see an opportunity to make jokes about it. I think the big difference is Maher is still a thinker, whereas the young Democrats in this country have been taught/conditioned to be ruled by their feelings.

He accuses the right of the same thing too.  I think that he's smart enough to realize that both sides have gone off the rails but he only cares about bringing one side back.  

If you listen to what he says outside of the monologue, he's trying to get the left to realize that out crazying the right isn't the way to get their message across and definitely not the way to get more independent voters on that side.

Bill Maher has been complaining about cancel culture for years now. In fact, despite being a Liberal he has been pointing out flaws in the Democrat's modus operandi forever. Some of you just haven't been paying attention. That Might have something to do with the fact that Bill was/is no fan of Trump.
