American casualties were about 350k

WW2 was definitely the worst of time for Europe and the Far East

On my first visit to the national World War 1 museum in Kansas City I was pretty shocked by how efficient the armies of the world were at killing each other.

I spend a day at the national world war 2 museum in New Orleans in October of 2019. The killing was so much more efficient in World War 2. On top of that the ruthless atrocities were also horrifying. Maybe they were just better documented in the 40s so they're more well known.

I'd bet most of the world would pick World War 2 as the worst of times. We (USA) didn't have to wage war in our own country so I wouldn't say it was the worst for us.

I'd probably agree our Civil War was the worst of times in our own country.

It's very informative Thad.  I didn't know that Germany gave their soldiers Meth to make them feel invincible.

Revolutionary War

Civil War

WW1

WW2

Vietnam War

Mid East wars

Current Times

You forgot The Forgotten War,   Korea

Korean war? Never heard of it.

I agree with Gcode about the Civil War. But the  two world wars were pretty bad. One fact is that in WW1 more soldiers died of trench foot than anything else. And oh boy aren't we lucky that Germany didn't get the bomb before we did. As for Korea I know that MacArthur wanted to nuke Korea. It's almost certain that China would have retaliated and the world would be far worse off than it is.

Hitler got "vitamin" injections that were most likely meth.

A real civil war isn't likely today, IMHO.

There very well could be isolated incidents of Qanon wackos pulling terrorist attacks similar to the January 6 attack on our democracy but they will be slapped down and squashed quickly.

If these loons get their way, all of those events listed in the OP will seem like, teh good ole days...

That is both the dumbest and scariest bullshit I've heard in awhile. Degrowth? Oh, you mean KILL.

Funny how that article conveniently omits any discussion of the amount of pollution from China. The left loves to give you pollution as an amount per capita to make western nations look bad. The truth is the cuts proposed for America are only a tiny fraction of what China pollutes. Even if we made all the changes they want here in America, It won't change the future if China doesn't change first.

Even funnier..  the US has spent the last decade replacing old school coal power plants with natural gas power plants
We are the only industrialized nation on the planet who has actually reduced it's carbon production
The left's response is to ban fracking and inhibit the natural gas industry

MEH, I had a blister/cut that kept opening up at Jiujitsu and bleeding all over. I had to take a week off to let it heal. It was the worst week ever.
