That is usually what companies do when the first take over....evaluate then make your changes...

Seems like Autodesk bought up all of the good systems and Sandvik is scraping the bottom of the barrel.   :D

I wonder how/if it will effect 3rd party companies like Verisurf...

This maek me think of the old saying "Hindsight is 20/20". Was this possible sale in early discussions when InHouse killed OT? Did CNC pressure that change because it looked bad for them to prospective buyers? Purely speculative, but would be interesting to find out that played a part, if it were true.

Interesting thought.  It's possible?

I'm pretty sure that Daniel was getting tired of all of the negativity as well.

They need to purchase Verisurf for the Metrology and Moduleworks for the Advanced 5 Axis and they will have a extremely powerful group under their roof. Would like to see Vericut as part of the verification process integrated into Mastercam since NCSIMUL and CAMPlete are both off the table or do they allow Mastercam to offer a competitive product with Moduleworks Machine verification?

Have to wonder where consultants who go head to head against Sandvik for programming projects using Mastercam will fall into all of this. Know of many of the tooling companies using Mastercam does Sandvik stop them from being able to use Mastercam? The whole things creates some very interesting directions for manufacturing moving forward.  :secret:

I noticed this in one the slides of the video I got to see about the announcement:

QuoteCurrent recommendations from CAM don't take into account all important parameters to improve performance - which tooling vendors typically know very well

    Fmr CAD/CAM Procurement Mgr.

    Global Machinery OEM

Wasn't mentioned on the video I saw, but was in the slide. Kind of indirect snubbing of CAM and the programmers using CAM. I read into that indirect statement they will be making implementations into the CAM software to educate us dumb programmers how to improve performance using CAM moving forward. We are not smart enough to figure it out and neither are the CAM companies, but they are and will bring everyone up to speed.
