Aside from the opportunity to hassle Biden — think of impeachment as Benghazi on steroids — this talk from Republicans is probably just another effort to destigmatize Trump's very real offenses. He was the only president in history to face two impeachment trials.

Trump was up for impeachment BEFORE he even took office. I'm still moderately eager to see precisely what the gasbags in the House of Reprehensibles considered "High Crimes and Misdemeanors".... considering they were not having ANY of it when their serial sexual predator/rapist none other than William Jefferson Clinton who had DONE FAR worse than #OrangeManBad said.

I agree with anyone that says if Trump had done this, the dems and the media would be calling for his impeachment.  there is no doubt about that. But I also believe impeachments should be safe, legal, and rare. And maybe most importantly, bipartisan. the case should be so strong that an office holder would most likely step down rather than be humiliated by it. but they should not be used for bad news cycles, on any candidate. that's just my opinion FWIW.

Impeachment is a political act first and foremost...

Unless there is substantial movement on the numbers in Congress it will be nothing but kabuki theater all over again...

Sadly I don't think that's impeachable.
But he can be forced to resign, and rightfully so. Then throw his wife in prison for allowing this to happen to someone with dementia.

Strip away the theater and looking at the "merits", legally speaking, impeachment isn't the correct course of action in this case. The 25th Amendment Section 4 is the correct vehicle since Bidet will not concede Section 3, and he may be frail but Section 1 does not seem to be anywhere near imminent.

I know VP's are usually in the background but they sure do keep it quiet about Kamala in the mainstream media. Don't want her to look too bad before she takes over. I don't believe that the president has done anything impeachable. You can't impeach for incompetence or senility. I believe as I have from the beginning that Biden will be out before the end of his term for health related issues. We lost my mom last year after over a decade of battling Alzheimer's and I see many similarities between my mom's early onset and Biden's current state.
