Quote from: CNCAppsJames post_id=16270 time=1632764067 user_id=62I've never even been on a pig farm. Been on Cattle ranches, Turkey Farms, Duck Farms, Horse Stables, and the Dairy Farm.

Dairy smelled the worst to me.

Pig Farm,Late Summer, No Breeze

Yep, it's one of the most heinous, vile smells you can imagine. I grew up next to a cow and horse farm, horse manure is a very pleasant smell compared to a pig farm.

especially after it rained
about 15 years ago my wife's office was located on a road that flooded pretty bad after a hard rain
her car's undercarriage reeked during the winter months.

We had to herd the pigs into the back pens ,open the gates and then drive the"H' in to scoop out all the Poop. you loaded the Smellevator wagon until the area was clear. Then closed it back up and released the pigs. Next hook up the Smellevator and head out to the Fields. The smellevator was a chain driven wagon and when engaged on the PTO as you drive forward the floor of the wagon moves to the rear and these big metal weights start slapping all that poop about 20 feet in the air behind the wagon as you cruise the fields (Fertilizer) The Key Tip?? Always drive into the wind....NOT with it.

Wash,rinse ,Repeat.

For Fun we would haul Poop all day then head down to the Local Tavern for Beer and Sammiches(Ham Of Course).

We never had a Problem getting our own Table.

i live in farm country and its so funny every year when new-comers complain about the smell when the farmers shit the fields
they think the sewer treatment plant broke or something

How about a Bears/Browns  recap thread??

Congrats !! It isn't that they played a great game.

The Bears just completely sucked.

Nagy has got to go, or whoever is calling the plays, Offense and defense.

First down, Run up the middle. Second down short pass, Third down short pass. fourth down Kick.

One long pass the entire game, pass interference 48yards +

Kid has an arm. Offensive line couldn't protect him for 3 seconds. was it 9 sacks??

and don't even get me started on Run Defense.

sorry for the Hijack.

I can tell you from experience that dairy farming is not a great job to have if you are single, after a while everything that you own smells.

That might belong to the guy my wife works for.
As the bulldozers advance in Cali, he's moving his herds to New Mexico
My wife has been using an old dairy house for an office for 15 years.
She's spent the last two weeks moving to a different house.
The bulldozers are coming next week for her old office
Another 5 years and there will be no more dairies here, just warehouses
and McMansions as far as the eye can see

Agreed.
Chickens are nasty too.
I used to hold my breath when I was a kid on my friends' farm when we had to go into the henhouse to get eggs.

I also once stayed at a place that was next to a mushroom farm.
It was mid-summer, and when the wind blew from that direction it was pretty ripe.

Mink farms. OMG PU. Only thing that could be worse is a skunk farm.
