wouldn't that depend entirely on where they live?  $175k goes a long ways the farther you get from the country's tallest buildings, but not so much the closer you get to those.

Quote from: Dan_AKA_ROY23 post_id=999 time=1608685443 user_id=82JUST IN: President Trump says the coronavirus relief bill is a 'disgrace' with a lot of wasteful spending, calls for direct payments to be increased from $600 to $2000.

600, 2000, 20000. None of that matters because Pelosi wants to give ALL ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS the same amount or more. And ban voter registration. And of course all of the money that is going to foreign countries.
This bill should have had only 1 goal in mind, the American people and nothing else.
Keep that $600 check, if that's the cost then I don't want it.

$600 dollars is a joke. It is also stupid to just send it out to everyone under the $175k limit. This year I have made the most money ever in my life in a single year. My kids haven't missed a day of work either. We have actually done well enough this year to pay off 2 car loans and 2 student loans. We don't need $600

On the flipside, we know people that have been out of work from Covid that are really struggling. $600 is a few weeks of help at most. Relief money should be given to the states and then you should apply for it just like unemployment. You should have to show that your income or business has been truly affected by Covid.

I wonder how many millions Joel Osteen is going to get this time around?
Last time he got $4.4 mill.

How dare you question his holiness Osteen. He deserves every million he has and probably deserves all of your money too! Just ask Reko, he'll tell ya!

Stock futures went from around +40 to -160 minutes after the Trump speech last night. I knew they reacted incorrectly, figured we'd see a green opening tomorrow (today). I was right. Took a little while to process. This bill needed major revision. Both parties of Congress at fault and Trump called them out.

My wife's job has been unaffected
I've been working 40 hour weeks at home for months
My checks are significantly smaller without the 15-20/week OT I usually work,
but.
not driving to work is saving $200/month in gas and a 1000 miles a month wear and tear
and we're not eating out at all which saves a lot of $$$ too.
It's not a wash, but we're not hurting.
Due to  our income level we have not received a dime of previous stimulus payments
and won't get anything from the next one.

A lot of the homes in my neighborhood are rentals.
The rent is so high many of them have 2 families, 2 or 3 young couples
or  a half dozen young people living in them.
After 10 months of lock downs most of these houses are empty.
The streets uses to be packed with parked cars due to the high occupancy rate
in the houses..  Now large  stretches of the street are empty because the houses are
empty.
I have no idea what's happened to the young people who lived in those houses.
I suspect many of them have moved east.

Right?

Where is Reko when you need him.

I think that he got a little butt hurt when Byte told him to stop posting political stuff in the help forums.

Who ever would have thought that Reko would have become a pain in the ass?   : :sofa:

Ironically, he has a place to go nuts with his political sewage now.  Other than twitter that is.

And by the way, Reko;  JO sucks.   :D

This is your typical "save the puppies" bill.

Full of garbage and very little to help the people who actually need it.
