Any idea if you have antibodies, beej? If you've been tested for antibodies and don't have any, would you then say your test was a false positive? I guess that's how it works.

my case was a weird deal.  My wife got covid in Dec.  I had kissed her the night before she showed symptoms and she tested positive the next day. So we both quarantined together.  I never got any symptoms except on morning while in quarantine, I fried some bacon and couldn't smell it.  I got tested the next day and I was negative.  3 weeks later I got the antibody test and it was also negative.  Weird that I could kiss my wife, who had symptoms and tested positive and not get it.  2 months later, I was required to get tested before a colonoscopy and tested positive-Asymptomatic. never had a symptom and I knew nobody who had it at that time. And I wore a mask everywhere I went except work and home. I don't understand it.  I really think I had it with my wife, but those 2 tests were both negative.

Yeah, that's weird alright. Could you taste the bacon?

There are other reasons why you could lose your taste and/or smell. It seems to me the the antibody test would tell the real story. That would be the thing that couldn't be fooled. But I'm no doctor.

I suddenly developed a cough and shortness of breath. It felt like bronchitis coming on. I suspect it's corona but the vaccine is keeping it in check.

Do you plan on going and getting yourself tested?
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Go see / call your doctor if the shortness of breath lingers or worsens. (Nothing you don't already know). Hope you get over this soon, Mike. And yes, the vaccine definitely helps lessen the symptoms. The data is clear.

I think that we just had another guy here at the shop come down with covid over the weekend.  He showed up this morning looking like death with a nasty head cold.  I had to make him leave until he goes and gets tested.

This has always pissed me off. Even LONG before COVID. If you're sick, stay home. It's just  plain  rude.

I got tested this morning. I can't go back to work until I get a negative result.

No option for my vote.
Spent 2 weeks isolated with 2 people that tested positive.
Certain I caught it (because it's SO contagious)but no symptoms.

My girlfriend was in the house with me for two weeks when I had it.  She was getting tested 3 times a week. She never got it.

We did a pretty good job of staying away from each other and making sure that the house was thoroughly ventilated.

Just tell her you spent all your money on a Peruvian ant farm that you're sure will hit it big.

You'll never see her again.

Preacher at the church I grew up in died yesterday from the 'Rona. Mid 70s, overweight, diabetic, etc, etc...

First person in knew personally that's died from it.

He was a good guy. Only preacher I've ever enjoyed hangin out with. He was a hillbilly from the Ozarks and one of the best hunters/fisherman I've ever seen.
