Billy Gibbons is the man!

I will say - I've seen these guys live twice over the years.  I saw them in concert with Ted Nugent which was a pretty good show.  But then I saw them play at the Washington State fair where I got to sit quite a bit closer to the stage.  Most of their show was sampled and almost appeared as though they were just air guitaring and lip synicing to the music.  The tip off was the three guitar parts that never missed a note even while the guitars were spinning in a circle.  It was pretty disappointing.

I've always been a big fan of their older stuff.  Not so much the 80s music.

I think that it was common for them to sample the popular songs off of the Eliminator album. It was a state fair so most of what they played came off of that album.   Legs, Give me all your lovin, Sharp dressed man, etc.

Yea, it was a bit of a turn off. I think that when they recorded Eliminator they used a lot of backing vocals, extra guitar parts, extra percussion.  The songs were probably impossible to play live and have sound anything like the album.

Never been a big fan. But then again I never dove deep into their music. Just what was on the radio. When I listen to anything from South of the Mason-Dixon line it usually is The Allman Brothers or Skynyrd.
