Totally. And that if the spindle is an axis, it can provide so much more capability.

Anybody seen this yet?
Too bad the Haas control can only do 5 Axis,
this is counted as an additional axis so you can't put it on a UMC.

That's what Bill told me. It made post modification more of a pain in the ass for him, and it was just unnecessary.

:D

This was why we dropped maintenance on TS. I tried to get them to work with us on pricing for the post editor. This is just my opinion, but what they charge for the ability to edit your own posts is ridiculous. I sorta get it. The machine definitions aren't very intuitive. Part of purchasing the post editor module is training requirements. Or at least it was back then.

Quote from: neurosis on June 10, 2025, 03:27 AMI can't remember. It was a long time ago.  I may still have some old emails around from back when I was trying to get it sorted out, but this is getting close to 5 years ago at this point.

I think that part of the problem was that Kyle used a lot of C#(?) in his posts and Bill wanted to get rid of anything done unnecessarily in C#. I got the impression that he wasn't as good with it as Kyle? That's just an assumption.

C# gives a whole other level of customisation, and function. But, it is rarely needed. I have one for an Okuma Multus, that was a workaround for controlling twin tools (not needed now as the function is within the software, and post at the ini level), and another for a customer that required some custom macro functions for controlling tapers in turning with Renishaw cycles (which works extremely well).

Your NH1000 shouldn't need C#. I've done a ton of horizontal and vmc posts and none of them have required it, and I am currently working on our Okuma MA600-HIII, that even supports Turn Cut and Flat Grooving without C#. Vericut doesn't even support Flat Grooving yet, I have the Vericut applications people looking at it at the moment :)
