Quote from: neurosis on September 23, 2025, 09:03 AMWhy are you assuming that the women aren't also doing it "just for kicks".

they have to pay the women about 10x what they pay the men in that industry. That should tell you something

And whether what Trump said, was hyperbole locker room talk or whether he was giving a 10 rules for life speech, it doesn't change the fact that people who get their kicks watching that stuff are just a different shade of gray than the people talking about doing it.

That these men are being taken advantage of and should demand equal pay!?!

Sorry, couldn't resist.  :D

Quote from: Jeff on September 23, 2025, 08:42 AM"NEXSTAR has now joined Sinclair in PREEMPTING Jimmy Kimmel tonight.
They're rebelling against ABC Disney after Kimmel's vile comments about Charlie Kirk.
This isn't the FCC — affiliates themselves don't want to air him. His brand is too toxic.
Nexstar statement:
"We made a decision last week to preempt Jimmy Kimmel Live! following what ABC referred to as Mr. Kimmel's 'ill-timed and insensitive' comments at a critical time in our national discourse. We stand by that decision pending assurance that all parties are committed to fostering an environment of respectful, constructive dialogue in the markets we serve. In the meantime, we note that Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be available nationwide on multiple Disney-owned streaming products, while our stations will focus on continuing to produce local news and other programming relevant to their respective markets.""

"assurance that all parties are committed to fostering an environment of respectful, constructive dialogue in the markets we serve."
This is pure comedy gold given that both Nexstar and Sinclair own almost equal Fox affiliates and ABC affiliates.  They are an equal oportunity offender.

John Oliver did a segment on Sinclair about 4ish years ago? He points out some interesting details about them.

I love tea. I'll usually have some caffeinated mint or caramel tea with my mid morning snack. Later, before bed, the wife and I will often have a decaf chamomile to relax us.

The evening cup really helps us enjoy John Oliver's program.

Yummy.

The funny thing is, if you wrote that in to him, he'd likely agree with you and then use it in one of his segues: "...and now on to our next topic, and I know you won't want to hear this from a tea drinking bitch, but it needs to be said and I'm the only one here to say it, so here we go..."

I don't usually cite John Oliver. The reason that segment stood out to me was because I remember someone posting it somewhere not long after Sinclair purchased two local stations.

About a year (maybe a little more) after those stations were purchased, they went from your basic local news, to a light version of Fox.

There is a push going on locally to boycott all advertisers on the local Sinclair/ABC station. I keep seeing a list of advertisers going around with phone numbers.

So they are boycotting a boycott of a station who fired a guy who made fun of people who were mourning the loss of a guy who was assassinated?

Are the Trumptards going to go back to boycotting Disney because of all of the gay/trans/woke/insert terror politic of the week here stuff?

They put it more like this - we're boycotting the advertisers of a propaganda machine that is trying to coerce a donation to an organization and attacks free speech.
